On Thursday 9 November, the press conference presenting Audiogiro and its project for the Civic Tower was held at the Sala Ferracina of the Bassano del Grappa City Hall. The conference was an opportunity to make official the many months of planning and synergy between the parties involved, which have led to the concretisation of a new cultural offer for the city.
The conference was attended and addressed by Domenico Baggio, CEO of Audiogiro, Giovannella Cabion, Councillor for Tourism, Culture and Productive Activities of Bassano del Grappa, Cristina Mondin, President of MAReA Cultura APS, and Caterina Bonotto, President of Ascom Albergatori - Bassano del Grappa. The speakers reflected the sectors and skills involved in this project, namely the municipal administration, the private sector, and associations. But what was actually presented?
Let's give some numbers: in Bassano there is now a network of 64 audioguides, in Italian, English and German, to discover the city and its wonders. These also include the Civic Tower of Bassano, which has been enriched with dedicated audioguides, divided on each floor to offer a more in-depth visit of the site. Not only that: all audioguides are, as always, usable by purchasing a package of minutes directly from the Audiogiro web app, but at the Civic Tower ticket office it is possible to purchase a voucher with a QR Code, through which one can access the interface with a ready-to-use guest profile. No further steps will be needed, as the minutes required for listening will be automatically pre-loaded when the QR Code is scanned. One more way to meet the needs of tourists, who can use the platform in a simple way even without being familiar with it, with a special focus on those who are not familiar with the use of smartphones. On each floor of the tower there is also a dedicated sign with a QR code, which allows direct access to the audio guide of reference.
The speakers' speeches at the press conference reflected precisely this desire to experiment in order to achieve the most comprehensive, simple and branched cultural offering possible in the Bassano landscape.
In her speech, councillor Giovannella Cabion emphasised the security of working with people and realities in the area, with whom a relationship of mutual trust and support had been established. The councillor also hoped that, since it was a national project, which was appreciated and appreciated right from the start, Bassano's reality would also be known to a wider audience.
The president of MAReA Cultura APS Cristina Mondin, who manages the Civic Tower on behalf of the municipality, emphasised that the Audiogiro project had been evaluated and chosen from among several already presented for its potential. The association actively participated in the editing and drafting of the texts of the audioguides, which made it possible to expand the offer during the visit to the Tower, in addition to the information boards already present on the various floors. The audio tracks, in fact, allow the user to listen directly to the content and, importantly, to enjoy it both in Italian and in English and German.
ASCOM Albergatori president Caterina Bonotto spoke of an extra service to be given to guests of the city that will certainly be appreciated, especially since it will make a specific contribution to tourists' knowledge of Bassano's cultural landscape.
A project, as mentioned, that is the result of the synergy between different sectors, both public and private, and that constitutes a further step to consolidate Audiogiro's corporate reality and expand its mission as a cultural container both inside the museums and sites, and outside, among the squares, buildings and monuments.
