Seven historic residences in the Veneto region, six villas and a castle, open their doors with the ‘Design in Villa’ festival to enhance and support Italian craftsmanship. This is the project conceived by Dimore Amiche del Veneto, with the patronage of the Associazione Dimore Storiche Italiane Sezione Veneto, scheduled every weekend from 15 March to 6 April.
A bridge between art, culture and Italian design, thanks to the presence, for each of the seven participating historical residences, of a designer who will accompany visitors through the story of objects of his own creation.
Massimo Barbierato, Gaetano Di Gregorio, Giulio Gianturco, Ivdesign, KANZ, Nicola Tessari, ZPSTUDIO: these are the names of the artists and ateliers that, reinventing ancient workmanship, transform it into unique creations or products in small series, all exclusively handmade.
The framework? Over 600 years of history and traditions handed down from generation to generation. In addition to the artists and their creations, visitors will have the opportunity to interact with the hosts of the historic residences, strolling through ancient halls and centuries-old parks, with the chance to learn historical anecdotes and recipes from them.
Design, the common thread between past, present and future, thus becomes a true immersive experience, during four weekends wandering through art, history, culture, traditions and Italian craftsmanship.
